Like you, we place people with
hearing loss at the heart of everything we do

Together we can create a world where more people with hearing loss successfully adapt to a life with hearing aids and feel more involved, connected, and in control

Features explained

Organic Hearing

Inspired by our Organic Hearing philosophy, we are always looking for ways to better emulate the way the normal ear works. Because hearing is a process that occurs in the brain, we strive to develop technology that naturally works with the human auditory system.

The unique way that ReSound uses directional technology to ensure benefits in real-life situations is a good example of this strategy. Our technology works to ensure that the brain has the right information to take advantage of an improved signal-to-noise ratio without cutting off access to surrounding sounds. This means that users can focus on the sounds they want to hear, but still monitor their environment. M&RIE (Microphone & Receiver-in-Ear) creates an even more natural hearing experience by using each patients' own pinna to collect sound.

Detailed explanations of ReSound features

Role

Our newest binaural hearing strategy that uses real time information about the user’s environment and stronger directional patterns to ensure smooth adjustments of directional settings. May use M&RIE or Spatial Sense for spatial cue preservation.

End user benefit

Simply hear everything all around you, automatically enabling you to listen to the sounds you want and tune out what you don’t.

Role

Forms an even stronger powerful directional pattern using the sound from both hearing aids so your client can focus on the person in front of them.

End user benefit

Hear through the noise to enjoy the best one-to-one hearing experience.

Role

The Microphone & Receiver-in-Ear design combines the two traditional hearing aid microphones with a third microphone that sits in the ear to collect sounds in the most natural way.

End-user benefit

M&RIE uses the unique shape of each patients' ear to collect sound the way nature intended. Patients get the natural sound of custom products, combined with the advanced features and ease of use of a RIE model, for an immersive and individualized hearing experience with greater depth and direction.

Role

Patient-activated Ultra Focus uses a powerful combined directional pattern from both hearing aids to focus on the speech in front of the patient. It provides up to a 30% improvement in speech understanding over All Access Directionality.

End-user benefit

Better one-to-one hearing experience in the toughest environments so patients can focus on the speech they want to without completely losing access to the sounds around them.

Role

All Access Directionality automatically adjusts directional microphone patterns according to a binaural hearing strategy.

End-user benefit

Provides the optimum settings to help patients effortlessly engage with people and surrounding sounds as they move through their daily listening situations.

Role

Replaces spatial cues that are disrupted due to hearing aid placement behind the ear and the effects of wide dynamic range compression.

End user benefit

Vivid spatial awareness with exceptional sound quality.

Role

Improves SNR by reducing the amplification of sounds coming from behind the user.

End user benefit

Improves speech intelligibility in noisy situations.

Role

To provide the brain with acoustic information so users can select and focus on whatever sound they are interested in, without requiring them to be vigilant about changing programs.

End user benefit

Natural and unobtrusive way to ensure hearing aids are in the directional mode when needed.

Role

Prepares low and high pitches to be treated differently. Directionality can be applied to high pitches, while low pitches always remain in omni.

End user benefit

Rich sound quality and enhanced ability to understand speech while retaining awareness of surroundings.

Role

Reduces feedback while preserving amplification without compromising sound quality.

End user benefit

User is not bothered by feedback or by sudden reduction of volume, which some other hearing aids do to prevent feedback.

Role

Reduces disturbing background sound without affecting speech audibility.

End user benefit

Improves listening comfort without compromising speech understanding.

Role

To accurately detect wind noise, and deceptively reduce it.

End user benefit

A natural sounding experience, with soft wind awareness in the background and minimal impact on audibility of other sounds in the environment.

Role

Reduces amplification for sudden, brief noises.

End user benefit

Improves listening comfort and sound quality for impulse sounds like clanking silverware or jangling keys. Learn more

Role

Provide automatic adjustment of hearing instrument settings

End user benefit

Users enjoy optimal audibility and listening comfort even when moving through rapidly changing sound environments, and without needing to make frequent manual adjustments.

Role

Allows audibility improvement for high-frequency sounds by compressing them in a frequency zone where they can be heard.

End user benefit

Improves audibility of speech cues that would otherwise be lost while maintaining best possible sound quality.

Role

Reduces amplification for very soft sounds which are not of interest to the wearer, such as very low level environmental sounds or noise generated internally by the hearing instrument.

End user benefit

Users, especially those with mild hearing loss, will be undisturbed by the noise of the hearing aid. The hearing instrument itself sounds quiet.

Role

Optimizes loudness for experienced end-users with severe and profound hearing losses.

End user benefit

The hearing instrument provides the preferred sound quality.

Role

Switches automatically to a telephone program upon detection of a handset.

End user benefit

User can conveniently use the phone without needing to consider hearing aid programs.

Role

Provides fitting flexibility for experienced end-users with severe and profound hearing losses, many of whom have developed a preference for the sound to which they are already accustomed.

End user benefit

The hearing instrument provides the preferred sound quality.
